MSM Malaysia appoints Mazlan Kamaruddin as chairman

KUALA LUMPUR: Refined sugar producer MSM Malaysia Holdings Bhd has appointed Datuk Mazlan Kamaruddin as its chairman effective today. 

He is currently senior adviser at Ernst & Young Advisory Services Sdn Bhd, a position he has held since 2017, the company said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia. 

He also serves as a director at Naza TTDI Sdn Bhd, Naza Automotive Holdings Sdn Bhd and Naza Motor Trading Sdn Bhd.

Mazlan succeeds Datuk Syed Hisham Syed Wazir, who ceased to be chairman on May 8 after being in the post for almost six years.

Previously, Mazlan was a partner at Ernst & Young Advisory Services Sdn Bhd (from 2002 to 2017) and a partner at Arthur Andersen/Hanafiah Raslan Mohamad Management Services Sdn Bhd (from 1990 to 2002). 

He also served as executive officer for corporate planning and investments at United Malayan Banking Corporation Bhd from 1985 to 1990.

Mazlan, 68, holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Morehead State University in Kentucky, the United States, and a degree in Business Administration (Marketing) from Western Michigan University in the US, as well as a diploma in Business Studies from MARA Institute of Technology. - Bernama
