7-Eleven Malaysia’s 1Q profit halves

The company's revenue grew to RM837.58mil from RM755.28mil a year earlier.

PETALING JAYA: 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Bhd’s net profit for its first quarter ended March 31, 2026 dropped to RM4.72mil from RM10.63mil in the previous corresponding quarter, while revenue grew to RM837.58mil from RM755.28mil a year earlier.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the company said the increase in revenue was primarily attributed to the net addition of 106 new stores as compared to the corresponding quarter last year, complemented by public holidays in the current quarter, leading to a higher average per store day.

“As a result, revenue from the convenience stores segment increased by RM80mil or 10.6% higher as compared to the corresponding quarter last year.”

7-Eleven said the convenience stores segment recorded a profit after tax of RM6mil, decreased by RM4.1mil as compared to corresponding quarter last year.

“The decline was mainly due to higher promotion activities and higher costs,” said the company.
