Meta Bright inks TNB solar PV pact

PETALING JAYA: Meta Bright Group Bhd (MBGB) has secured a 20-year agreement with Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) and Surau Perumahan PASDEC II Indera Mahkota to install and operate a solar photovoltaic (PV) system at the surau in Pahang.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, MBGB said its wholly-owned subsidiary, FBO Land (Setapak) Sdn Bhd, will design, construct, install, operate and maintain the solar PV system under TNB’s Supply Agreement with Renewable Energy scheme.

The system will have a capacity of 43.66kWp direct current and 36kW alternating current, with a solar tariff of RM0.4054 per kWh.

MBGB said the agreement marked the “successful materialisation” of the pact signed between the group and Koperasi Kakitangan Istana Pahang Bhd in May 2023 to explore rooftop solar PV installations at mosques in Pahang.

Under the agreement, FBO Land will retain ownership of the solar PV system throughout the contract period, while TNB will own the solar energy meter.
