PETALING JAYA: Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) has reported that Malaysia Airlines continues to maintain on-time performance (OTP) at above 90%, while registering resilient passenger traffic amid an evolving operating environment.
Chief executive officer of airline business Bryan Foong said: “The operational consistency we have seen in recent months, together with continued customer demand across key markets, is an encouraging reflection of the steady progress being made across the airline.”
The group highlighted that the airline held strong OTP performance throughout April – marking the second consecutive month its average OTP exceeded the 90% threshold – while consistently outperforming its 85% target since January 2026.
“This sustained performance reflects ongoing operational improvements across the network, including enhancements to boarding processes and on-ground support, contributing to a smoother and dependable travel experience for customers,” the group noted.
In a statement on its operational improvements, MAG highlighted the relocation of its airframe maintenance facility to Hangar 4 at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang as of May 2026.
Meanwhile in its March review, the group said year-on-year (y-o-y) passenger traffic increased by 30%, with positive momentum continuing into April as traffic grew by 8% y-o-y.
