Pentamaster banks on technological depth, engineering expertise

PETALING JAYA: Pentamaster Corp Bhd remains focused on execution across its core segments, supported by its established engineering capabilities and growing technological depth.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the automation manufacturing and technology solutions provider said demand within the semiconductor industry, particularly in artificial intelligence and high-performance computing applications, is expected to provide support to the automated test equipment (ATE) segment.

Meanwhile, Pentamaster said its factory automation solutions (FAS) segment is anticipated to benefit from continued demand for automation solutions across the medical, consumer and industrial products as well as electro-optical segments.

In its first quarter ended March 31, 2026 (1Q26), Pentamaster’s net profit rose to RM17.94mil from RM13.07mil in the previous corresponding period, while revenue improved to RM180.36mil from RM131.60mil a year earlier.

“The growth was mainly driven by higher contributions from the ATE segment which was partially offset by lower contributions from the FAS segment.

“However, the profit before taxation decreased by 23.3% to RM27.1mil in 1Q26 primarily due to the recognition of non-recurring income in the preceding quarter arising from project cancellation charges and the monetisation of previously written-off inventory.”

Excluding the non-recurring income in 4Q25, Pentamaster said profit before taxation in 1Q26 would have increased by 17.1%, which was broadly in line with the revenue growth.
