Geohan unit secures New Pantai Highway contracts valued at combined RM103mil from IJM


KUALA LUMPUR: Geohan Corp Bhd said its wholly-owned subsidiary Geohan Sdn Bhd has secured two subcontracts from IJM Construction Sdn Bhd with a combined value of RM103mil for the New Pantai Highway extension.

The group said the first subcontracts, valued at RM27.4mil, is for and dug caisson piling works, along with comprehensive pile testing. 

The second subcontract, valued at RM75.6mil, is for bored piling and reverse circulation drilling works. 

Both contracts are expected to be completed wtihin 19 months from the date of commencement.

With the new wins, Geohan's total outstanding order book has risen to about RM460mil.

The infrastructure segment now accounts for approximately 30% of the total order book, an increase from 17.3% as at Dec 31, 2205. 

Geohan said the shift reflects its focus on higher-value public works, providing the company with enhanced earnings visibility over the next two years.

"Notwithstanding the ongoing international geopolitical uncertainties, we have continuously taken proactive measures to manage cost pressures and strive to protect our margins. 

"By leveraging our relatively young and fuel-efficient machinery fleet, we are able optimise operational efficiency while maintaining cost discipline," said Geohan managing director Lee Kim Seng in a statement.
