VS Industry reports 2Q net loss

PETALING JAYA: VS Industry Bhd is anticipating a weaker performance for the current financial year, citing a challenging operating environment from weak global consumer sentiment and geopolitical tensions.

The group reported a net loss of RM29.59mil for the second quarter ended Jan 31, 2026 (2Q26), down from its net profit of RM15.38mil a year ago.

Revenue for the quarter stood at RM769.5mil, a 15.3% decline from RM908.8mil in the previous year’s corresponding quarter.

For the six-month period ended Jan 31, 2026, the group posted a net profit of RM1.04mil, a steep 97.7% drop from RM45.98mil in the same period last year.

The group also saw a 8.5% fall in revenue during this period to RM1.85bil from RM2.02bil the year before.

VS Industry said the performance for the current and cumulative quarters was impacted by lower orders from key customers arising from soft consumer sentiments globally, which in turn affected the overall utilisation rate of production capacity, coupled with cost optimisation initiatives from customers.
