Keyfield obtains RM162mil chartering contracts

KUALA LUMPUR: Keyfield International Bhd has secured chartering contracts worth about RM162mil for eight offshore support vessels across Malaysia, the Middle East and Thailand.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the offshore accommodation vessel provider said the contracts involve seven accommodation work boats (AWBs) and one anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessel.

The company said five contracts are for AWBs operating in Malaysia with a petroleum arrangement contractor, while one AWB contract each has been secured with oil and gas contractors in the Middle East and also Thailand.

The AHTS vessel will also be deployed in the Middle East under a separate charter agreement.

Keyfield said the contracts ranged from two months firm with a one-month extension option to one year firm with a one-year extension option.

Seven of the contracts are expected to commence in the first half of 2026, while one contract is scheduled to start in early 2027.

The company said the contracts carry a total value of approximately RM162mil, with extension options valued at about RM84mil.

Chief executive officer and executive director Datuk Darren Kee Chit Huei said: “These awards reinforce our position as a trusted offshore marine services provider and highlight the demand for our accommodation work boats in supporting offshore operations across the region.

“We remain committed to delivering safe, efficient and high-quality services to our clients while expanding our presence in key offshore markets,” he said in a separate statement.

Keyfield expects the contracts to contribute positively to its earnings and net assets for the financial years ending Dec 31, 2026 and 2027.
