AirAsia X redesignates Jamaludin Ibrahim as non-executive chairman

PETALING JAYA: AirAsia X Bhd has redesignated its non-executive director, Tan Sri Jamaludin Ibrahim, to the position of independent non-executive chairman, effective immediately.

In a statement, the aviation company said Jamaludin (67) brings to the board more than four decades of distinguished leadership at the forefront of Malaysian corporate life.

“His experience in scaling large, complex organisations across the region, driving transformation and upholding rigorous governance standards makes him ideally suited to lead AirAsia X’s board at this pivotal juncture.

“His deep expertise in organisational integration and disciplined long-term growth will be instrumental as AirAsia X leverages the benefits of consolidation to optimise performance and deliver sustainable value.

With its strengthened structure, AirAsia X said it is well-positioned to advance its long-term strategy, enhance coordination across business units and drive greater efficiencies that will support competitiveness and resilience in an evolving aviation landscape.

Jamaludin succeeds Datuk Fam Lee Ee (65), who has been redesignated to the position of non-executive director.
