Fire unlikely to impact Farmiera

PETALING JAYA: Farmiera Bhd has announced a fire incident at its broiler farm in Kampung Air Hitam, Linggi, Negri Sembilan, over the weekend.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the poultry producer said three chicken houses with a combined capacity of about 100,000 broilers per cycle were destroyed in the fire, which broke out on Feb 14.

However, the incident is not expected to materially impact the operations of the group.

No broilers were lost as there had been no intake at the time of the incident.

There were also no injuries or casualties.

According to Farmiera, it is in the process of ascertaining the actual quantum of losses arising from the fire.
