Plus Xnergy secures two KLIA Aeropolis renewable energy contracts worth RM71.76mil

KUALA LUMPUR: Plus Xnergy Services Sdn Bhd (Plus Xnergy) has signed two landmark contracts with Cenergi Aeropolis Renewable Energy Sdn Bhd (CARE) worth RM71.76 million for one of Malaysia’s largest self-consumption solar photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) integrated projects at KLIA Aeropolis.

It said the company won the engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) as well as equipment and materials supply contracts following a competitive tender for the 36 megawatt-peak (MWp) ground-mounted solar PV power plant integrated with a 45 megawatt-hour (MWh) BESS.

"Targeted for completion in the first half of 2027, the renewable energy facility will support the demands of Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA)’s daily operations.

"Upon full commissioning, the facility is expected to generate 46 gigawatt-hour (GWh) of clean electricity annually over a lifespan of 25 years and avoid 35,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide equivalent (tCO2e) per annum,” it said.

This is equivalent to powering 13,400 homes annually or removing 8,000 internal combustion engine vehicles from the road.

Plus Xnergy is an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of BM Greentech Bhd (BM GreenTech). - Bernama
