Destini redesignates Shahril Mokhtar to MD

Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar

PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar, who was appointed as Destini Bhd’s executive director (ED) last month, has been redesignated as the company’s group managing director.

Shahril previously served as group managing director of Prasarana Malaysia Bhd and was also the chief executive officer of Mass Rapid Transit Corp Sdn Bhd.

In a statement in December 2025, Destini said Shahril’s appointment as ED was expected to strengthen the group’s capabilities and positioning in the rail sector, which is seen as a key contributor to its future revenue and profits.

For its first quarter ended Sept 30 for the financial year 2026 (1Q26), Destini saw net profit grow by 15.2% year-on-year to RM6.13mil, as revenue also increased by 2.8% to RM81.2mil.

Destini credited the improvement primarily to train and equipment deliveries under its mobility and aviation sectors.

Meanwhile, its improved profitability was mainly attributable to higher revenue contributions and ongoing cost optimisation initiatives.
