MPay signs agreement for mobile wallet and prepaid card issuance

KUALA LUMPUR: Managepay Systems Bhd (MPay) has entered into an agreement to issue a white-label mobile wallet and a co-branded Mastercard prepaid card for the PERWIRA Super App project.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group said its wholly owned subsidiary, ManagePay Services Sdn Bhd (MPSB), signed the agreement with Taksim Pertama Sdn Bhd on Nov 4, 2025.

The partnership will see MPSB issue two Bank Negara Malaysia–licensed payment instruments — the MPay White Label Wallet and the MPay co-branded Mastercard prepaid card — targeting users within the PERNAMA and MINDEF ecosystems.

The digital payment products are expected to be branded and launched within 12 months, subject to the terms of the agreement.

MPay said the agreement will run for an initial five-year term with an automatic renewal for another five years and is expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings from the financial year ending June 30, 2026.

Both parties target to issue at least 500,000 Mastercard prepaid card within 12 months after execution of this agreement.

MPSB is a Bank Negara–licensed fintech providing payment services, card issuing and acquiring, loyalty programmes and related technologies.

Taksim Pertama is a software solutions provider appointed by Pernama Network Sdn Bhd to develop and operate the PERWIRA Super App for the military community.

Pernama Network operates retail outlets at military camps nationwide and oversees the PERWIRA Super App initiative under the Ministry of Defence.
