KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd
(BIMB) aims to increase the number of users of its BIMB Biz application by more than 50 per cent following the launch of the new Payment to Voice feature, which offers real-time voice notifications for every transaction without the need for additional devices.
BIMB Retail Banking Group chief business officer Mizan Masram said the target was set following the strong growth of the application, which currently has approximately 15,000 active users with transactions totalling RM1.2 billion as of October this year.
"With today's launch, we are targeting an increase of over 50 per cent from current levels within 12 months.
"What sets the Payment to Voice feature of BIMB Biz apart is that it delivers payment notifications without requiring a soundbox and comes with no additional charges," he said during the Payment to Voice Launch Ceremony here today.
The Payment to Voice feature allows merchants to receive instant voice notifications on their respective devices for transactions using the DuitNow Quick Response (QR) code, helping reduce the risk of missed payment alerts and enhancing security.
This feature also allows up to five cashiers to receive simultaneous notifications on their respective devices, making it easier for business owners to monitor transactions in real time.
Payment to Voice is also aimed at empowering micro, small, and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs), which have been the primary users of BIMB Biz since its introduction in 2021.
According to Mizan, digitalisation is very important for small business owners as organised transaction records help them manage their operations more efficiently and securely.
"Technology should make things easier for business owners, not add to their burden. Payment to Voice is designed to meet the real needs of MSMEs by controlling costs, increasing security, and helping to record transactions in an organised manner," he added. - Bernama
