KUALA LANGAT: IOI Properties Group Bhd
(IOIPG) today launched its 130.31-hectare (322-acre) IOI Industrial Park @ Banting, signifying its progress to advance its industrial segment strategy.
In a statement today, IOI Properties Group chief operating officer for property development (Malaysia) Teh Chin Guan said the launch is a key move to meet rising demand for green industrial properties across the country.
"The IOI Industrial Park @ Banting is targeted to contribute about RM1.8 billion in gross development value (GDV) over the next five years to the group’s industrial segment,” Teh said at the launch of the 12,000 sq ft IOI Galleria, a purpose-built sales gallery.
Teh said the interest in green industrial investments has risen, and its first GreenRE-certified industrial park, expected to be completed in two years, comprises 103 factory units of various types in phase one.
This includes detached factories, semi-detached factories, and cluster factories.
He said the company’s priority will be industries related to air freight since the KLIA is nearby. There will be some electric and electronic (companies) over here, and manufacturing is also possible, such as pharmaceuticals, which will require air freight.
"We also have a lot of power available with three rows of pylons on-site; two rows are 275kVA, and another one is 33kVA. So, we are suitable for industries that require high power demand, such as data centres or manufacturing," he said.
Teh said the site is also equipped with solar streetlights, solar-adaptable rooftops, EV charging facilities, green-certified materials, and a waste recycling drop-off point.
The facilities enable the industrial park to meet modern and future operational demands, minimising energy and water consumption and promoting waste recycling, thus reducing its impact on the environment.
"Beyond water and energy conservation, the industrial park is engineered with resilient and effective stormwater management with a bioswale and a scenic water retention lake.
"On waste management, we target to recycle or salvage 80 per cent of non-hazardous construction materials. With a dedicated recycling centre within the project and composting facilities, we will contribute to a greener industrial environment," he said. - Bernama
