DRB-Hicom shares up on revised US$110.62mil purchase price for Spirit MY

KUALA LUMPUR: DRB-Hicom Bhd’s shares climbed in early trade on Friday after the group proposed acquiring the entire equity interest in Spirit Aerosystems Malaysia Sdn Bhd (Spirit MY) for US$110.62 million (US$1=RM4.1), higher than the previously estimated enterprise value of US$95.2 million.

At 10.42 am, the counter gained 1.0 sen to RM1.07, with 112,300 shares traded.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, DRB-Hicom, through its principal adviser, AmInvestment Bank Bhd, stated that the price difference was due to an additional cash amount of US$16.94 million, minus US$1.52 million in indebtedness.

On Aug 11, 2025, DRB-Hicom announced that its wholly-owned unit, Composites Technology Research Malaysia Sdn Bhd (CTRM), had entered into a conditional share purchase agreement with Spirit Aerosystems Inc. and Spirit Aerosystems International Holdings Inc., a United States-based aerospace manufacturer, for the proposed acquisition of their Malaysian operations, Spirit MY.

DRB-Hicom said upon completion of the proposed acquisition, Spirit MY will become a wholly-owned direct subsidiary of CTRM. The acquisition is expected to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2025, it said. - Bernama
