Privasia kicks off RM569mil data centre construction in Perak

PETALING JAYA: Privasia Technology Bhd has moved into the execution phase of its flagship data centre project in Perak after awarding a RM569mil engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract to Inspur Communication Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia, the company said its indirect wholly owned subsidiary, Silver Streams Technofarm Sdn Bhd, had issued a letter of award to Inspur to build a 10.06MW information technology load data centre in Bagan Datuk.

The RM569mil contract was accepted on Dec 2, with works slated to begin within 15 days of acceptance and an 18-month completion timeline.

The scope covers the full stack from design and procurement through construction and commissioning.

While the contract is not expected to have an immediate impact on earnings for the financial year ending December 2025, the group said the development is expected to “contribute positively to future earnings” once operational.

The board added that no exceptional risks are foreseen beyond typical construction, regulatory and execution risks, and confirmed that no shareholder or regulatory approvals are required.
