QL Resources affected by lower prices

The company's second-quarter revenue eased to RM1.73bil.

PETALING JAYA: QL Resources Bhd has posted a lower net profit of RM116.23mil for the second quarter of financial year 2026, ended Sept 30, 2025 (2Q26), down from RM128.28mil.

Revenue eased to RM1.73bil for the quarter, compared with RM1.87bil previously, mainly due to substantially lower fishmeal sales volumes following poor overall fish landings and depressed international fishmeal prices.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the agro-food producer said its net profit for the first half of FY26 (1H26) decreased to RM216.83mil, compared with RM235.71mil in 1H25, while revenue fell to RM3.44bil from RM3.49bil previously.

Looking ahead to the next quarter ending Dec 31, 2025, the company said that despite subdued domestic consumer sentiment, management remains cautiously optimistic. — Bernama
