The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia has emphasised that Ascend’s approvals followed a rigorous evaluation process, signalling heightened vigilance after MYAirline’s collapse.

THE Malaysian market has proven challenging for new entrants, particularly in the airline industry.

MYAirline, for instance, collapsed in 2023, just a year after its launch, unable to navigate the unforgiving domestic aviation landscape. Ambition alone cannot sustain operations; a viable and sustainable business model is essential.
