AirAsia said to be planning Middle East hub in Bahrain


KUALA LUMPUR: AirAsia is poised to sign a deal with Bahrain to set up a Middle East hub in the Gulf country, according to people familiar with the matter, strengthening the airline’s international presence.

Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, the Malaysian carrier group’s founder, is set to announce the agreement soon at an investor forum in Bahrain, said the people, asking not to be identified as the talks were private.
