KUALA LUMPUR: Affin Bank Bhd
(ABB) has announced the appointment of Hasli Hashim as the new chairman of Affin Hwang Investment Bank Bhd (AHIB), its wholly owned subsidiary, effective Oct 23, 2025.
Hasli, a seasoned banker with over 35 years of experience in the financial services industry, has held senior leadership roles across major institutions, including Malayan Banking Group, OCBC Bank, Pacific Bank, and United Malayan Banking Corporation.
He has served as an independent non-executive director of AHIB since April 1, 2021, and currently sits on several key board committees — namely the Group Board IT and Transformation Committee and the Board Risk Management Committee — while also chairing the Strategic Investment Committee.
Furthermore, he contributes externally as a member of Bank Negara Malaysia’s Corporate Debt Restructuring Committee.
He was previously the chairman of Hektar REIT and an independent non-executive director at EXIM Bank Bhd.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Economics from Indiana State University, United States.
