Sealink gets RM68mil vessel fire settlement

PETALING JAYA: Sealink International Bhd has secured a total settlement sum of US$17.28mil (RM68mil), following a fire incident involving one of its vessels in Brazil.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the integrated service provider specialising in the offshore marine industry said the relevant parties have executed the settlement agreement and related insurance claim forms.

“The company is currently working with the relevant parties towards the completion of the insurance claims process, including the disbursement of the insurance proceeds,” Sealink said.

Sealink reported a fire on its vessel in May last year.

At the time, the company said its vessel was operating under a bareboat charter, which places operational control with the charterer. No casualties were reported as a result of the fire.

For its financial year ended Dec 31, 2025, Sealink posted a net loss of RM4.61mil, compared with a net profit of RM17.96mil in the previous corresponding period.

Revenue rose to RM189.63mil from RM125.26mil a year earlier.
