Epicon's unit bags RM347.7mil joint development project in Batang Kali

KUALA LUMPUR: Epicon Bhd’s (Epicon) wholly-owned subsidiary, Epicon Land Sdn Bhd (ELSB), has inked a joint development agreement (JDA) with NCT Noble Sdn Bhd to undertake a property development project in Batang Kali, Selangor, with an estimated gross development value of RM347.7 million.

NCT Noble is a subsidiary of NCT Alliance Bhd.

In a statement today, the construction and engineering services provider said that the project entails the development of 876 units of single-storey terrace houses on a freehold land parcel, spanning approximately 29.19 hectares.

"The project site is strategically located less than five kilometres (km) from the Batang Kali town centre and approximately 20 km from Genting Highlands, providing connectivity to major commercial and leisure hubs,” it said.

The company said the proposed diversification into property development is a natural step, leveraging its construction expertise.

"Development is expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026 (4Q 2026) and be completed by 4Q 2029. The project is expected to contribute progressively to future earnings, enhancing Epicon’s earnings base,” it said.

Epicon Bhd group chief executive officer Clement Toh said that the property development venture positions Epicon for sustained growth and stronger returns to shareholders, adding that the group is ready to pursue further opportunities in the sector. - Bernama
