Vantris’ records ebitda of RM47mil in 2QFY26

PETALING JAYA: Vantris Energy Bhd (formerly known as Sapura Energy Bhd) announced earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (ebitda) of RM47mil in its second quarter ended July 31, 2025 (2QFY26).

In a statement, the integrated energy services and solutions provider said ebitda in 2QFY26 was an improvement from a loss of RM275mil in 1QFY26). Revenue for the quarter rose to RM1.06bil, up from RM801mil recorded in 1QFY26.

The earnings rebound was primarily driven by stronger contribution from the drilling segment, with several rigs commencing new contracts.

The group recorded a loss after tax and minority interest of RM231mil in the quarter, narrowing from the RM478mil loss in 1QFY2026, due to foreign exchange losses of RM239mil primarily unrealised, stemming from the weaker US dollar against the ringgit.

As of July 31, 2025, the group’s order book stood at RM7.1bil, lower than the RM7.9bil reported in the previous quarter.

Separately, Vantris Energy announced that it had appointed Adnan Zainol Abidin as its new Chairman, effective Oct 1.

He succeeds Shahin Farouque Jammal Ahmad.
