Ringgit opens higher against US$ on softer Fed outlook

KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened firmer against the US dollar on Wednesday,  supported by a combination of external factors including expectations of a more accommodative policy stance by the United States (US) Federal Reserve (Fed), said an analyst.

At 8 am, the local note stood at 4.1840/2140 per dollar, stronger than Friday’s close of 4.1975/2080.
