Prudential appoints Kelvin Ang to lead life business in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Prudential Assurance Malaysia Bhd (PAMB) has appointed Kelvin Ang as chief executive officer (CEO) of its life business in Malaysia.

In a statement, the insurer said Ang, a Malaysian, has over 26 years of experience with senior leadership roles in Indonesia, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, and Malaysia.

Ang was most recently President and CEO of AIA Philippines, where he drove business and cultural transformation. He also played a central role in agency integration in Malaysia and led market expansion in Hong Kong, China, and Vietnam, focusing on digitisation.

In his new role, Ang reports to John Cai, regional CEO for Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam, with responsibility for Agency.

“I’m honoured to be appointed as CEO of PAMB. Prudential has a strong legacy and I’m excited to work alongside a talented team to strengthen our customer focus and drive sustainable growth. I look forward to building on our strong foundations to serve our customers, communities, and partners across Malaysia,” he said.
