The investigation does not involve the company or its subsidiaries, SunCon clarified in a statement.
PETALING JAYA: Sunway Construction Group Bhd
(SunCon) has confirmed that the investigation by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) launched in July is focused solely on the personal conduct of a former employee.
The investigation does not involve the company or its subsidiaries, it clarified in a statement today.
SunCon issued the statement following the receipt of a letter from the MACC dated Aug 18, 2025, which confirmed the company was not under investigation under any provision of the MACC Act 2009, including Section 17A.
According to the company, the MACC had clarified the matter was “an isolated incident”.
The company reiterated that the employee currently under investigation by the MACC has been terminated.
It has also initiated a comprehensive audit and review of its tendering procedures to identify and address any procedural gaps across its operations.
SunCon said the move reflects its ongoing commitment to strengthening internal controls and safeguarding against misconduct involving employees or subcontractors.
