Syahrunizam is Malakoff group CEO


PETALING JAYA: Malakoff Corp Bhd has appointed Syahrunizam Samsudin, 51, as its group chief executive officer (CEO) with effect from Sept 1, 2025.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the global energy and environmental solutions firm announced that its managing director and group CEO Anwar Syahrin Abdul Ajib, 52, will be resigning to pursue other opportunities.

Malakoff said Syahrunizam was previously the managing director and CEO of UEM Edgenta Bhd from July 2020 to August 2025.

Prior to that, he was the CEO of Touch ‘n Go Sdn Bhd from September 2015 to June 2020.

According to the firm’s annual report, Anwar Syahrin started his career with Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd in 1996 as an executive in fleet distribution where he gained considerable experience in transport and logistics.
