has via its wholly-owned subsidiaries Kum Fatt Engineering Sdn Bhd and Konnection Engineering Pte Ltd entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Asean Cableship Pte Ltd to explore a collaboration in developing directional drilling (HDD) solutions for offshore telecommunications and infrastructure projects across the region.
UUE said Singapore-based Asean Cableship, which specialises in the installation, repair and maintenance of submarine cables, is seeking a partnership with a specialist contractor in HDD for marine offshore projects.
In a statement, UUE managing director Datuk Ting Kok Hwa said the intended alliance will leverage the combined strengths of Asean Cableship’s regional subsea expertise and UUE’s proven track record in HDD and cable installation capabilities across underground utility sectors in both Malaysia and Singapore.
"By combining our proven onshore HDD expertise with Asean Cableship’s subsea capabilities, we are now equipped to offer a more comprehensive, end-to-end service package spanning both land and marine scopes.
"This enables us to access new addressable markets including regional telecom operators and consortium telcos across ASEAN, and pursue high-value projects, particularly in thespecialised field of subsea HDD," he said.
