Theta Edge inks MoU to explore Hajj tech rollout in Indonesia

KUALA LUMPUR: Theta Edge Bhd has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore the deployment of its digital Hajj management platforms in Indonesia.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the ICT solutions provider said its wholly owned subsidiary, Theta Innovation Sdn Bhd, signed the MoU with PT Qiwary Solusi Finansiaku.

The collaboration will focus on pre-commercial evaluation activities for Theta’s Hajj Mobility and PilgrimPro platforms, including system demonstrations, stakeholder engagements and feasibility assessments.

Theta said its partner will act as the local facilitator, coordinating engagements with relevant authorities and stakeholders in Indonesia.

Qiwary has also indicated an allocation of RM1mil to support evaluation activities under the MoU.

The MoU will remain in effect for 12 months from the effective date, unless terminated earlier in accordance with its terms.

“The MoU represents Theta’s first structured initiative to enter the Indonesian market, which is one of the largest Hajj and Umrah ecosystems globally,” it said.

Theta said the initiative marks its first structured effort to enter the Indonesian market, one of the largest Hajj and Umrah ecosystems globally.

It noted that the potential financial contribution, if any, cannot be determined at this stage, as it is subject to the outcome of the evaluation phase and the execution of definitive agreements.
