BHIC, Airbus Helicopters may collaborate as industrial partnership in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation Bhd (BHIC) has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Airbus Helicopters for potential collaboration as an industrial partnership in Malaysia.

BHIC also entered into a framework agreement (FA) with PT Dirgantara (PTDI) for potential collaboration on the supply chain and leasing of PTDI’s aircraft and other related activities.

The company also entered into another FA with IPTN North America (INA, Inc.) for trading aerostructure parts, tools, and components supporting PTDI's manufacturing and maintenance, repair, and operations programmes.

"The MoU and FA are subject to due diligence, agreement of terms, signing of definitive agreements, and all required corporate and subject to all regulatory approvals. They represent a preliminary statement of intent between the parties to expand their business relationship to Malaysia,” it said in several stock filings.

BHIC said that there is no certainty that the ongoing discussions between the parties will result in the entry into any binding agreement of the proposed transaction. "Any key development about the MoU and FA will be announced as required,” it added. - Bernama
