Chai Lai Sim appointed CEO of IGB’s REITs

PETALING JAYA: Chai Lai Sim has been appointed as the chief executive officer (CEO) of IGB Real Estate Investment Trust (IGB-REIT) and IGB Commercial-REIT, effective May 2.

In separate filings, IGB-REIT and IGB Commercial-REIT announced that Chai, 64, will succeed Antony Patrick Barragry, 73, who will step down as acting CEO on April 30.

She began her career as an articled student with Coopers & Lybrand (now known as PwC), before joining Tan & Tan Developments Bhd as group financial controller in 1993.

Following the merger between Tan & Tan and IGB Corp Bhd (IGBC) in 2002, Chai was appointed as group chief financial officer (CFO) of IGBC. Chai had also previously served as CFO of IGB REIT Management Sdn Bhd since the listings of IGB-REIT and IGB Commercial-REIT.
