Panasonic Manufacturing resumes full operations after gas supply disruption


KUALA LUMPUR: Panasonic Manufacturing Malaysia Bhd (PMMA) announced that gas supply to both its manufacturing plants in Shah Alam had fully resumed as of yesterday, following the earlier disruption caused by the gas pipeline incident on April 1.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, PMMA said that with the gas supply restored, production of its fan and electric iron products had resumed full operations.

“We have been able to minimise operational impact and aim to recover the loss of revenue within this quarter,” managing director Takashi Sugihara said.

Prior to the full resumption of gas supply, PMMA implemented measures such as using alternative gas sources to maintain production.

The company will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide updates, where necessary.
