KUALA LUMPUR: Online trading platform M+Global has launched Malaysia's first US initial public offering (IPO) subscription service that it says will make subscriptions more affordable to Malaysian qualified retail investors.
"Traditionally, US IPO subscriptions were only limited to institutional investors and selected high-net-worth individuals, due to significant investment thresholds reaching millions of US$," said M+Global in a statement.
However, it said the new service will lower entry barriers to participation for better affordability and accessibility to a broader spectrum of Malaysian investors.
“This launch reflects M+Global’s commitment to making global investments accessible and straightforward for Malaysian investors,” said Lim Chia Wei, managing director of M+Global.
As part of the underwriting or selling groups, M+Global, which is offered by Malacca Securities Sdn Bhd, secures IPO shares directly from listing companies, and offers them exclusively to its clients.
The launch of the subscription service coincides with the US IPO of Chagee Holdings Ltd, a Shanghai-based tea chain.
