FBM KLCI gains 20pts as tech tariffs exemption offer relief

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia's blue-chip index leapt 1.4% as global stock markets extended a recovery on the back of Trump's temporary exemption of tariffs on electronics.

At the midday break, the FBM KLCI was up 20.68 points to 1,475.44 in line with a rally in other Asian markets and US stock futures amid optimism the US president was walking back sections of the tariffs proposed earlier.
