JAKARTA: PT reNIKOLA Primer Energi (PT rPE) has inked a build-own-operate-transfer (BOOT) agreement with PT Karya Pratama Niagajaya (PT KPNJ) for a project valued at US$6 million in North Sumatra, supporting its goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable energy in Indonesia.
PT rPE is a subsidiary of reNIKOLA Holdings Sdn Bhd, a leading pure-play renewable energy (RE) company, and PT KPNJ, an Indonesian energy and infrastructure company focused on sustainability and energy efficiency, is a subsidiary of PT Mahkota Group Tbk.
The companies announced In a joint statement today that the project will utilise palm oil mill effluent from PT KPNJ’s mill to produce over 108,000 MMBtu of biomethane annually, which will be turned into compressed biogas (CBG).
This RE source is expected to reduce CO2 emissions by approximately 40,000 tonnes per year.
