Midea Malaysia eyes RM1bil sales in 2025

BENTONG: Midea Scott and English Electronics Sdn Bhd (Midea Malaysia) is targeting RM1bil in sales this year to sustain its double-digit growth momentum as demand for energy-efficient appliances surges.

Managing director Mark Tam said the demand for energy-saving inverter air conditioners had significantly increased in the past year, from a low of 10% to over 50% of the country’s air conditioner market.

“This is reflected in our air-conditioner lineup, the company’s fastest-growing product, with a year-on-year growth of 37%.

“This shows that the demand for energy-saving products is on the rise and increasing rapidly,” he said at the unveiling of Midea’s 2025/2026 product lineup at the Genting International Convention Centre yesterday.

Midea works with over 1,000 dealers nationwide and plans to further strengthen its market presence by upgrading 50 Midea brand stores over the next two years.

“We want to ensure greater accessibility to our products,” he added. — Bernama
