Salcon partners TNB for Perak solar project


KUALA LUMPUR: Salcon Bhd’s indirect unit, Mentari Kamuning Sdn Bhd (MKSB), has signed a new enhanced dispatch agreement or Neda connection agreement with Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB).

MKSB is 70%-owned by Salcon’s wholly owned subsidiary Energy Valley Sdn Bhd, while the remaining 30% is held by KAB Smart Solar Energy Sdn Bhd.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Salcon said the agreement enabled MKSB to operate as a generator company to design, construct, own, operate and maintain a solar energy generation facility with a capacity of 7MWac in Sungai Siput, Kuala Kangsar, Perak.

“Salcon expects positive earnings contributions from the facility starting from its commercial operation date and continuing for 21 years,” it said. —Bernama
