Datasonic unit gets 12-month job extension


PETALING JAYA: Datasonic Group Bhd’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Datasonic Technologies Sdn Bhd, has received a 12-month extension for its contract to supply Malaysian passport chips to the Immigration Department, according to its filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday.

The extension, granted by the Home Affairs Ministry, runs from Dec 1, 2024, to Nov 30, 2025, and is valued at RM104.78mil.

This marks the company’s fifth contract extension since it first secured the award on Dec 15, 2015.

With the latest extension, the total contract ceiling value has risen to RM616.71mil.

As part of the extension, Datasonic is required to furnish a new performance bond or an additional performance bond of RM3.43mil or RM238,660.46, respectively, with validity extending until Nov 30, 2026.
