Eden to develop 29.99 MW solar plant in Kuantan

KUALA LUMPUR: Eden Inc Bhd's fully owned subsidiary, Daya Cipta Sdn Bhd, has received a notification letter from the Energy Commission for the development of a 29.99 MW large-scale solar (LSS) photovoltaic plant on a site owned by the company in Gebeng, Kuantan, Pahang.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Eden said the solar power purchase agreement will be executed with Tenaga Nasional Bhd for a term of 21 years.

The scheduled commercial operation date shall be no later than July 28, 2027.

Eden said the project will be financed through bank loans and/or internal funds.

Strategically located on a site owned by Eden, in the rapidly growing industrial hub of Gebeng, Kuantan, the upcoming solar plant, as part of a broader industrial ecosystem, is poised to contribute to the development of the area.

The site is situated in proximity to key infrastructures, including the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) and the ongoing Kuantan Port expansion.

“This project exemplifies Eden’s extensive experience of more than two decades of successful operations in the renewable energy sector, underscoring Eden’s continuing commitment to expand the contracted capacity of its renewable energy portfolio and contribute meaningfully to Malaysia’s sustainability goals,” Eden said.
