Malakoff redesignates Che Khalib as non-executive chairman

KUALA LUMPUR: Malakoff Corp Bhd has redesignated Tan Sri Che Khalib Mohamad Noh as non-independent non-executive chairman, effective Jan 1, 2025.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Malakoff announced that Che Khalib, 59, will succeed Tan Sri Dr Ahmad Tajuddin Ali as chairman, following the completion of his three-year term.

Che Khalib is currently the group managing director of MMC Corp Bhd. He also sits on the board of Gas Malaysia Bhd, Johor Port Bhd, MMC Engineering Group Bhd, Aliran Ihsan Resources Bhd, Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd, NCB Holdings Bhd, Kontena Nasional Bhd, Northport (M) Bhd, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin and several private limited companies.

He started his career with Messrs. Ernst & Young in 1989 and later joined Bumiputra Merchant Bankers Bhd. Between 1992 and 1999, he served in several companies within the Renong Group.

In June 1999, Che Khalib joined Ranhill Utilities Bhd as chief executive officer (CEO). He then assumed the position of managing director and CEO of KUB Malaysia Bhd.

Che Khalib was appointed as the president/CEO of Tenaga Nasional Bhd on July, 2004 where he served eight years until the completion of his contract.

He then joined DRB-Hicom Bhd as the chief operating officer of finance, strategy and planning in July 2012.

A qualified accountant, Che Khalib is a Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (CA, M) and a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA, UK) United Kingdom.
