JHM unit bags RM300mil Proton contract

PETALING JAYA: JHM Consolidation Bhd’s 52%-owned subsidiary JHM Dekai Auto Lighting Sdn Bhd has secured a contract for the supply of parts for specific car models to Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Sdn Bhd (Proton).

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, it said with an estimated value of RM300mil, it is expected to commence in the late third quarter of the financial year ending Dec 31, 2025, for a period of five years.

“The contract is expected to contribute to the earnings of JHM Group over a period of five years commencing from the financial year ending 2025,” it said.

JHM said risk factors affecting the contract includes changes in economic, political and regulatory environment and operational risks such as completion risk and shortage of materials and skilled labour, which the group would take appropriate measures to minimise.

“None of the directors and major shareholders of JHM or persons connected with them has any interests, whether direct or indirect, in the contract,” the company said.
