MISC redesignates Mohammad Suhaimi as chairman


KUALA LUMPUR: MISC Bhd has appointed Mohammad Suhaimi Mohd Yasin as its chairman effective today, redesignated from his previous position as an independent director.

The appointment was made following the retirement of the previous chairman, Datuk Abu Huraira Abu Yazid, at the age of 73, said the international maritime logistics and energy shipping conglomerate in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

Mohammad Suhaimi has extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, having held various senior positions within Petroliam Nasional Bhd, including senior general manager roles in project procurement management, corporate services, supply chain management, group tenders and contracts.

Mohammad Suhaimi had also served as managing director and chief executive officer of MITCO Japan Sdn Bhd and Petronas country manager for Yokohama, Japan, as well as executive assistant to the president of Petronas.

MISC added that Mohammad Suhaimi holds a Master of Business Administration from Saint Louis University, a degree in Science (Accounting) from Indiana State University, and a diploma in Accountancy from MARA Institute of Technology. - Bernama
