No disruption to Petron product supply


The oil company confirms that the supply of petroleum products to its network of Petron-branded petrol stations, its liquefied petroleum gas customers and commercial accounts will continue as usual.

KUALA LUMPUR: Petron Malaysia Refining and Marketing Bhd’s (Petron Malaysia) refinery at Port Dickson, Negri Sembilan, will undergo a maintenance shutdown for eight weeks to facilitate repairs to its furnaces.

Despite the shutdown, the oil company confirms that the supply of petroleum products to its network of Petron-branded petrol stations, its liquefied petroleum gas customers and commercial accounts will continue as usual.

“While the financial impact cannot be estimated at the present moment, we can confirm that the cost of the repair at the refinery is not considered material,” it said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.

For the second quarter ended June 30, 2024, Petron Malaysia’s net profit dropped to RM13.25mil from RM40mil in the previous corresponding period, while revenue improved to RM4.29bil from RM4.05bil before. — Agencies
