Pekat unit wins RM115mil EPCC contract in Perak

PETALING JAYA: Pekat Group Bhd, via its indirect wholly-owned unit Pekat Solar Sdn Bhd, has won a RM115mil engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning (EPCC) contract from MF Solar Tronoh Sdn Bhd.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the group said Pekat Solar will be appointed as the EPCC contractor of a 29.99 megawatt AC solar photovoltaic (PV) plant for the corporate green power programme in Kinta, Perak.

“The commencement date is expected in the fourth quarter of 2024, and the project is expected to achieve the commercial operation date by Dec 31, 2025,” Pekat said.

The solar PV service provider said the contract is expected to contribute positively towards the future earnings of the group for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2025, onwards.

Pekat said it does not foresee any exceptional risk, other than the normal operational risk associated with the contract.

“Nevertheless, the company will take the appropriate measures to mitigate the risks as and when they occur,” it said.
