PETALING JAYA: Analysts believe the stronger ringgit and weaker crude oil prices offer an opportune time for the government to implement the subsidy rationalisation of RON95 petrol.
Bank Muamalat Malaysia Bhd chief economist Mohd Afzanizam Abdul Rashid said the timing of the move mattered, especially considering “other moving parts in the equation” such as the ringgit-US dollar exchange rate and crude oil prices.
