Advancecon indirect unit gets mining job


PETALING JAYA: Advancecon Holdings Bhd’s indirect subsidiary, Spring Energy Sdn Bhd, has been awarded a mining services contract by Imerys Minerals Malaysia Sdn Bhd for the latter’s quarry site at Gunung Terundum, Johor.

In a statement, Advancecon said Spring Energy will provide a full suite of mining services, including quarry development and maintenance, drilling and blasting, marble handling and processing, waste management and environmental protection measures.

“Spring Energy is projected to extract 193,000 tonnes of marble per month with an estimated potential value of approximately RM110mil over the contract period,” it said.

The contract commences in July 2024 for a period of 42 months, with the possibility of extension upon mutual agreement.

Spring Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Spring Energy Resources Bhd, in which Advancecon holds a 51% equity stake, manages quarry operations, sales of quarry and premix products, and civil engineering contracting.
