SunCon to stay active in data centre initiatives


SunCon said it is optimistic of registering positive growth for the financial year ending 2024.

PETALING JAYA: Sunway Construction Group Bhd (SunCon) remains actively involved in data centre initiatives, having secured its second data centre project in Johor and pursuing more opportunities in this sector.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the group said its outstanding order book now stands at RM5.3bil, with RM2.51bil in new orders secured up to December 2023.

“We have raised our target replenishment for 2024 to a range of RM2.5bil to RM3bil,” it said.

SunCon said it is optimistic of registering positive growth for the financial year ending 2024, based on its existing order book.

For the fourth quarter ended Dec 31, 2023, SunCon’s net profit rose to RM49.27mil from RM45.65mil in the previous corresponding period, while revenue increased to RM871.50mil from RM503.43mil.

Basic earnings per share stood at 3.82 sen versus 3.54 sen a year earlier.
