CapitaLand Malaysia Trust awarded Green Mark for Queensbay Mall and The Mines

KUALA LUMPUR: Capitaland Malaysia Trust (CLMT) has received the Green Mark certification from the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore (BCA) for two of its retail properties.

In a statement, the REIT manager said Queensbay Mall has achieved the Green Mark Platinum, while The Mines has obtained a Green Mark GoldPLUS (Provisional) certification.

The BCA Green Mark award recognises organisations who have made outstanding achievements in integrating environmentally friendly features into the built environment.

CLMT said 39% of its properties based on gross floor area have received a green building certification to-date.

Tan Choon Siang, CEO of CapitaLand Malaysia REIT Management Sdn Bhd, said: “The awards are a testament to CLMT’s commitment to sustainability and validate our capabilities to enhance our assets and create long-term value for our stakeholders.

"This also marks an important milestone as we accelerate our progress towards attaining 100% green building certification for our portfolio by 2030, in line with CapitaLand Investment’s refreshed Sustainability Master Plan.”
