Private hospitals, insurers stirred as claims rise

A Liam spokesperson said the life insurance industry recorded a 34% increase in medical claims payout in 2022 to RM6.16bil from 2021.

THERE appears to be no stopping the rise in medical inflation, and this phenomenon has become more pronounced with the prolonged state of the weakened ringgit.

Apart from inflation due to a weaker currency, it appears that the health industry is also being stirred by the increased double-digit rise in medical claims last year.
